Donation
FACPSST is a non-profit organization associated with the religious congregation of the Petites Sœurs de Sainte Thérèse de l'Enfant-Jésus in Haiti (the first religious congregation in Haiti founded by Louis Farnèse Louis Charles, a Haitian priest elevated to the rank of Servant of God by the Universal Church).
Our mission is to improve the nutritional, educational and developmental conditions of underprivileged children and their families in Haiti, through the Congregation of the “Petites Sœurs de Sainte Thérèse de l'Enfant-Jésus” (PSST).
It is through the support of generous people like you, who share our mission, that we can achieve our goals and make a difference in the lives of thousands of children and their families.
Your donation will enable us to :
• Offer two eggs a week to over 3,800 students in nine schools and one orphanage run by PSST.
• Offer a 12-ounce glass of Akasan to around 2,000 students three times a week.
• Add fresh vegetables to school canteen menus twice a week.
• Provide the most vulnerable students with school supplies and support their families in entrepreneurial activities.

The goodwill and commitment of supporters like you fuel every step we take towards our mission. We believe that together, we can create a better future for disadvantaged communities and bring hope to those in need.

Projects
Our three main projects involve improving the nutritional quality of pupils in ten schools run by PSST is in the departments of Nord (2), Nord-Est (3), Centre (4) and Ouest (1), including the Sœurs orphanage in Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite. More than 4,000 pupils aged 3 to 19 and 200 teachers in these 10 schools, plus some 30 children from the orphanage, will be the main beneficiaries of these projects. Stricken by the current food crisis in the country, and aware of the consequences of poor nutrition on the integral development of children and adolescents, FACPSST wants to mobilize all these forces, thanks to the generosity of people like you, to ensure the well-being of vulnerable students in Haiti with a view to a new society. These three projects will help to balance the nutrition of beneficiary pupils, as the menus served in school canteens are not complete. School Akasan will be served in schools with no school canteen 5 days out of 5, and will serve as breakfast for all pupils.

Our Partners
In March 2014, the Little Sisters of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus inaugurated their 19-hectare “Centre Agropastoral des PSST” farm at Carrefour Chivry, first section of Dumas in the commune of Fort-Liberté from a project with the American Red Cross to meet an urgent need for food security. Since then, the operations of this project have given rise to other projects and enabled the farm to expand. Food security, a growing challenge for all development, is its slogan.
The vision of the Centre Agropastoral is to popularize ecological agriculture based on integrated production and exchanges of experience that can make a significant contribution to food security in Haiti.
Centered on the PSST motto “Ora et Labora” and on organizational values, the “Centre Agropastoral des PSST” farm's mission is to save Haiti, our Mother Nourishment, by revalorizing agricultural and livestock work and striving for food self-sufficiency. The farm pursues the following objectives:
- Support and strengthen the capacity of local farmers in the evolution of their farming practices towards agro-ecological systems.
- Enhance local and national agro-pastoral resources.
- Strengthen animal husbandry in the community and create a zoological learning space for local schools.
- Support the local community in entrepreneurship and agropastoral cooperative activities.
- Strengthen the food security of local households through training and socio-economic support.
- Carry out charitable projects aimed at improving the nutritional quality of pupils in schools run by PSST and those in the surrounding area.
